Finally...

Here is the long awaited update! Sorry I didn't do this sooner but life has been busy!

School started a couple weeks ago and it's been kind of crazy trying to get used to my new schedule and everything that comes with it. It's not too bad yet. I keep telling myself that anyway just because I know it is going to get so much worse! I am taking Microbiology, Organic Chemistry and Social and Cultual Anthropology. Oh, and Pilates! ;-) Since I'm taking Micro and Chem that means that I have 4 labs a week! Monday and Wednesday I have 3 hrs of Chem and Tuesday and Thursday I have 4.5 hrs of Micro. Thats each day...not the days combined! So needless to say I have hours of homework for these 2 classes not to mention the hours of reading that I have for Anthropology each week. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining, I'm really not. For the most part I actually like what I'm taking and have some good teachers...it's just a lot of work. One thing I discovered this semester is that I actually like Chemistry! This is a huge deal for me because I HATED Chem before. I'm finding that organic chem is a lot more fun and I really like my teacher. He has this Irish accent and is so fun to listen to even at 9pm!

I started teaching the First Responder class again on Thursday nights and am also a skills instructor in the EMT class which is all day Saturdays. I love teaching this stuff! It helps me remember everything and also is just really fun...although some of the students are already being "difficult." :) I'm going to start tutoring Stats again next week. I'm not going to have as many hours this semester as I did last semester...only 9 hrs this semester compared to 18-20 last semester. This is because I'm trying to get on an ambulance right now. I'm getting ready to turn in my application to AMR (American Medical Response) but I have to have my ambulance drivers license first. Hopefully, I'll get to go take that test on Monday or Tuesday. I'm really looking forward to getting a job but scared out of my mind on the other hand! I guess that goes with every new experience. I know quite a people who work for the company so I'm hoping that I'll get hired on pretty fast.

Last Tuesday afternoon I started teaching a 4 week course on Pride and Prejudice to Meredith and Kirsten. It should be pretty fun. After all it is one of my favorite books and now I just get to sit and discuss it! I have to admit it is a little weird leading the discussion...I'm not used to that.

It's funny...I NEVER wanted to be a teacher or even teach anyone anything but here I am teaching Sunday School, teaching in 2 classes at school, teaching Mer and Kirsten, and tutoring! The weird thing is that I'm loving every minute of it. It's not like I've found a new calling in life or anything but I would love to teach the EMT program or in a nursing school or something like that. I guess we'll just have to see what the future holds!

I'm sure all of you knew most, if not all, of what I wrote but this is my way of putting off reading about different shaped bacteria and drawing the chemical structure hydrocarbons! :) So, sorry this is so long...good night!

Wow, I'm tired out just reading about what you're are doing! You are one busy girl! That's great that you are enjoying being the 'instructor!'

Thanks for the update! :o)

Hi Kathryn! I just found two new blogs on Jill's blog. Actually, 4 if you count Emily Escott's and their dog's blog, apparently. :-\

Sounds like you have one FULL load this year! You're a very concentrated, hard worker and it will pay off in the years to come! I enjoyed your blog. :)
